2nd Annual Race - June 30, 2005
From Rose Hill near Bathurst, NB

The 9 birds arrived at the Bathurst airport on June 29th at 4:00 pm and were were picked up at the 4:30.
When I got home they were immediately transferred to a large 2 section training basket and given water. I saw at least half of the birds drink. They were fed "Barcelona Maize" at 6:00 pm. The water was taken away at 9:00.
The birds were given water again at 5:00 am release morning.
It was a beautiful morning release day. There was absolutely no wind and the skies were clear except for a few clouds to the east. There was some patchy morning fog in low lying areas but not at the release point.
At the release point the birds were given water again. I saw one bird go to the water immediately and drink.
The birds were released at 5:55 am and disappeared immediately in a south westerly direction over the trees. I did not see them after that.
